September 28 - October 8, 2025
Discover Kenya on an adventure packed journey to see wildlife that is only found north of Africa’s equator.
JAMBO - KARIBU!!
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, an African Travel, Inc. representative will meet you with their traditional, unique & special welcome (a flute of bubbly, wet towels, an authentic safari hat and a beautiful canvas pouch filled with safari essentials).
After your hotel check in, you'll be able to spend the rest of the day at leisure with an overnight stay at the hotel.
Accommodations:
Today will start with breakfast and then on to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. The baby elephants are brought from the national park for a mud-bath at the orphanage, where for an hour you get to experience an up close encounter with them. The orphanage is proud to have saved over 150 orphaned infant elephants, who would otherwise have perished. The baby elephants (ranging in age from a few months to three years) are raised at the orphanage with the goal of gradually reintegrating them into the wild.
Next you will visit the renowned Giraffe Centre founded to protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe. During your visit here you will be given a rare opportunity to get up close to these gentle giants in this natural sanctuary.
Enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen coffee garden and explore the Karen Blixen Museum for a glimpse into the fascinating world of this pioneer coffee farmer, who achieved world fame through her highly- acclaimed memoir, “Out of Africa”. She departed Africa after a series of personal tragedies and her lovely colonial house has been preserved as a museum.
Today your visit helps amazing wildlife conservation efforts and supports local artisans. A highlight is a tour of the beautiful Kazuri Bead Factory that employs disadvantaged members of Kenyan society, especially single mothers. The mission of the factory is to provide sustainable jobs to the local woman of Nairobi and contribute to the fair trade market.
Souvenir shoppers are in for a treat as later you will be visiting the Utamaduni Crafts Centre. Utamaduni is a large crafts emporium and easily one of the best places to souvenir shop in Nairobi. An added bonus is that a portion of all proceeds goes to local conservation and other charitable projects.
Next we will return to the hotel so you can relax before a Welcome Cocktail Hour later that evening.

This is my second safari journey to Africa (my first was in 2018) and I'm sharing my photos from that earlier trip. The world has so many amazing places to explore that I have yet to visit it's rare that I want to return to a destination I've been before. However this was such a truly phenomenal experience that I can't wait to go back again and share this experience with others.
I hope you will enjoy my nostalgic look back...
